Since we are a small hobby kennel, we only produce litters occasionally and only when there is an opportunity to produce offspring that we feel embodies the total Pembroke Corgi or Norwich Terrier, and enhances our breeding program. Some of these puppies will become part of the Whimsy family and others will find their way into the hearts and homes of others..

At Whimsy, we take care to ensure that our Pembroke breeding stock are:

• OFA or PennHip Certified
• CERF Certified and re-certified as recommended by CERF
• vWD DNA tested or clear by heritage

Puppy Buyer Questionnaire

At Whimsy we ask that if you are seriously considering one of our special puppies, contact us so we can provide you with our puppy buyer questionnaire. The purpose of this questionnaire is not to prejudge you but to get to know you better and help us choose just the right puppy for you. There is no one best way to own or care for a dog but we want to be sure that your puppy will be happy in its new home.

Puppy Sales and Contract Terms

To reserve a specific puppy from a current litter each prospective buyer is given a “Sales Contract”. Contact us regarding our contracts and the type of puppy you wish to purchase -- companion or show quality. A nonrefundable deposit of 50% of the purchase price is required. Health guarantees are included as part of our companion and show quality puppy contracts.

If you wish to reserve a puppy from a future, planned breeding, please contact us for additional information and a copy of our purchase pre-agreement.

Final payment is due when the puppy is placed with its new owner. Payments for a puppy may be made by electronic bank transfer or certified check. Once a puppy has been reserved (sold), we routinely contact the puppy buyer with updates on the condition of the puppy.

Puppy Care

We and our Corgis and Norwiches have an excellent relationship with our veterinarian. He works with us during pre- and post-delivery of our puppies. Nutritional needs of both the mother and her puppies are extremely important to their overall well being. Our puppies receive the required vaccinations and deworming care appropriate for their age prior to being placed in their new homes.

Puppy socialization is very important to us. Our puppies enjoy our undivided attention from birth. We provide individual attention as well as socialization.

Puppy Placement

Today, with the increased awareness of pet overpopulation, the question of whether to breed or not has become a concern of ours. Once a litter is born, we evaluate each puppy and as the puppy grows we select which puppies we will sell as breeding/show quality and which puppies we will sell as companion quality only.

We base our selection of breeding/show quality puppies on the Pembroke and Norwich Terriers’ traits that we would like to keep within the breed. Whimsy only sells companion quality puppies with a spay/neuter, non-breeding agreement and AKC limited registration.

Transportation

Safe delivery and transportation for our puppies is also very important to us. For buyers who live outside our immediate area but within the state of Idaho, you may make arrangements with us to pick up your puppy at our kennel. For all other areas within the continental U.S., transportation costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. When it is necessary to ship a puppy to its new home, Whimsy will coordinate the shipping arrangements to maximize the safety and comfort of the puppy during its journey.
